A
Great IOLA '11
We
had an estimated 115,000 people this year. Overall - the
weather was great with the exception of a shower late
Saturday afternoon. Additionally, Sunday produced a
rainstorm in the morning which affected attendance. We
had a Delightful Dodge & De Soto automotive display
along with about 2000 other wonderful antique and
classic cars! Kudos to all the volunteers and patrons
that made IOLA '11 happen!

Iola
'11 Poster Picture Taken
The
Poster picture was recently taken for Iola '11 in
Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The theme for the 39th
annual event will be "Delightful Dodges and De Sotos".
The Wisconsin Chapter Society of Automotive Historians
(WSAH) and Mitch Swenson, IOCS Public Relations – they
are the volunteer group that participates with
organizing the theme exhibit. For promoting the 2010
event, the Auto Historians chose a 1936 Dodge Model LC ½
- ton pick up owned by Naomi and the late Henry Rehfeldt
of Larsen WI and a 1957 De Soto Adventurer Convertible
owned by Bob Brown and George Collar of Wisconsin Rapids
for the Iola Old Car Show poster. WSAH selects nearly
fifty autos for under the tent and the other theme cars
will go on display in the surrounding grass or black top
area. The discussion for the tent vehicles is usually
around April and a picture must accompany for this
consideration. Vehicles that are under the tent will be
asked to attend all 4 days of display. The large
registration map will be mailed the third week of
January.
