7/17/2008 A Great IOLA '08
  On behalf of the Iola Old Car Show Staff & Board of Directors, we thank all who attended IOLA '08. We know that with a bit of an uncertain economy (and gas at $4 per gallon) it was a challenge this year - yet we can boast an attendance of 100,000 people for the weekend. We are optimistic for the future and look forward to IOLA '09 and "Independents & Imports - Alternatives to the Detroit Three" theme. Check back soon for photos of IOLA '08. Again, WE THANK YOU!
7/1/2008 No Flooding in Iola - Swap almost sold out...
  IOLA '08 has received a lot of calls about the condition of our grounds. While there have been flooding issues in southern Wisconsin, Iola is high and dry and the show grounds are in excellent condition. The staff of the Iola Old Car Show extends our thoughts and prayers for all who have been affected by weather throughout the United States. We look forward to a great show in Iola and want to note that less then 40 swap spaces are available. See you in IOLA!

6/17/2008 Swap Meet Spaces Selling Out!

6/16/2008 Camping Available for IOLA '08
  Camping spaces are still available. Why not bring your camper or pitch a tent - drive once to IOLA '08 and stay four days! A 20'x30' space is $70 and 20'x50' space is $80 for the weekend. Each space includes two passes to IOLA '08 - a $30 value. Call 715-445-4000 to reserve.
6/15/2008 Mobility Carts by Vista Carts
  The Iola Old Car Show allows three or four-wheeled electric one-passenger mobility carts for people with disabilities. You may bring your own or rent one from Vista Mobility (available on the showgrounds). The cost is $60 per day. Call 262-628-9655 to reserve or online by clicking on blue Vista logo to right.
6/1/2008 “Million-dollar Dodge dream car to appear at Iola”
  Famous "concept car collector" Joe Bortz will feature his 1954 Dodge Firearrow coupe dream car to IOLA '08. The Firearrow coupe concept car was built by Ghia to Chrysler’s European-influenced design on the standard 119-inch Dodge wheelbase. Built as a follow-up to two Firearrow I roadster concept cars built earlier in 1954, the Firearrow coupe was fitted with the 150-hp V-8 Red Ram Hemi engine with a PowerFlite automatic transmission from the production line. The one-of-a-kind two-seater used bucket seats with an aft luggage compartment and an internally located gas filler cap in the compartment. Chrysler Corp. debuted this racy coupe at the 1954 Detroit Automobile Show.
5/25/2008 IOLA '08 Features cars filmed in "Public Enemies"
  Organizers of the Iola Old Car Show are rolling out the red carpet for the cars featured in the Michael Mann film “Public Enemies,” which stars Johnny Depp and several pre-1936 Nashes, Fords, Chevrolets and many other infrequently seen fendered beauties. This display of star cars will be held July 10-13 on the grass area of the show grounds between the Blue Ribbon section and the prewar show field. Cars will be accompanied by appropriate signs declaring their “celebrity status”.

5/17/2008 "Billie Joe McKay" - Greg Evigan at IOLA '08
  TV Series “Movin’ On” and “B.J. & The Bear” trucks will appear at IOLA ’08 - the actor who portrayed B.J. - Greg Evigan will have autograph sessions Friday and Saturday. Evigan is known around the world best for his character portrayals of Billie Joe McKay on the hit television series “B.J. and the Bear” and Joey Harris in “My Two Dads.” The trucks are owned and restored by Paul & Craig Sagehorn of Sparta, WI.
5/15/2008 "Teamed to Learn" - Education Tent at IOLA '08
  Just east of the “Roadsters, Ragtops & Rumble Seats” theme tent, you’ll notice a new tent at IOLA ’08. Hailed as “Teamed To Learn” – this tent essentially is an educational opportunity for the patrons of IOLA ’08. Kopecky Klassics of Iola will feature a “Car Under Construction” a 1960 Chrysler 300F convertible undergoing a full blown, frame off, rotisserie restoration which you can experience first hand, only at the Iola Old Car Show! You’ll be able to take part in a number of seminars held throughout the show led by Jerry Kopecky, owner of Kopecky’s Klassics. Kopecky will discuss the processes involved with a complete restoration. Also in the education tent – an overview of the Hot Rod High program developed by Mr. Fred Beyer at the Shawano, Wisconsin High School. Mr. Beyer who teaches Machine Tool, Foundry, Welding, and Automotive technology at Shawano High School along with several students will display a number of vehicles and memorabilia projects they have worked on. Video presentations will also be integrated into the overview of the successful Hot Rod High technology/learning program at Shawano High School.
4/10/2008 IOLA ’09 Theme selected
  Plans are underway for the 37th Annual Iola Old Car Show, July 9-12, 2009 with our theme of ‘Independents and Imports—Alternatives to the Detroit Three.’ This will be the first Iola show since 1995 to feature domestic independent makes with an added twist if import collector vehicles joining in the feature display area. Both cars and trucks will be welcomed, up to and including 1979 models. It is not too early to consider entering a vehicle that meets the theme, is completely stock with only period accessories. Send a photo to the show office and information on your vehicle. Entries will be accepted by the Wisconsin Chapter of the Society of Automotive Historians.
1/28/2008 IOLA '08 Registrations Mailed Out!
  The IOLA '08 Registration forms have been mailed out. These forms allow you to pre-register for the Swap Meet, Car Corral, Campground and Show Car areas. You can download a form now by selecting the Show Information tab then Registration in the pull-down menu.
10/18/2007 Post-War, Car Corral car years increased
  The Iola Old Car Show Board of Directors and Staff are announcing that the years for "Post-War" cars are being increased from 1975 to 1979; additionally, the "Car Corral" will now accept cars up to 1995.
10/9/2007 Second poster car chosen
  The second automobile for the IOLA '08 poster will be a 1934 Ford Roadster owned by Doug Ogilvie of Hortonville, Wisconsin. Doug's '34 is "Ford Coach Maroon". Thank you to all who have submitted photos for our IOLA '08 poster.
